Tunbridge Wells Fairtrade Town

Our opportunity to work for a fairer world

Our Schools Get ‘Loud and Proud’ For Fairtrade Fortnight

Calverley Precinct is once again awash with colour as Tunbridge Wells celebrates Fairtrade fortnight. Students from twenty local schools spent Fairtrade Fortnight painting their own Fairtrade cotton flags. These have been put together ‘bunting style’ to create a community art installation and this is now on display in the centre of Tunbridge Wells.

The theme for Fairtrade Fortnight this year is ‘Show Off Your Label’ we are being encouraged to ‘get loud and proud’ about Fairtrade’. Our schools have done just that. Their brightly colored designer bunting represents just a few of the many Fairtrade goods that are available today. In fact there are currently over 3000 Fairtrade products, which is a fantastic testament to the demands of ordinary individuals for justice in the market place.
